2010....a New Year...a new Century

One Vision...One Goal

WIN a Championship

2009 was a limited year for racing events, less than I had expected and scheduled.  I served as the primary caregiver to my aging father, who passed away at age 85 on Oct 30th, 2009 after a bout of viral pneumonia. I enjoyed the time spent racing with my new racing organization, SWMS -Southwest Motorsports - Albuquerque, NM. I was able to finish in 3rd place in the overall standings for open wheel race cars. I have renewed my National Competition license with the SCCA and have renewed my competition license with SWMS for 2010. The year will once again present a challenge on track with both the SCCA and SWMS. My goal for 2010 is to secure the SWMS Open Wheel Points Championship, and believe it is a doable goal. I have posted the new 2010 racing schedule on my blog, so please visit the blog at the top of the page. The Phoenix F1K.07 F1000 has proven to be an exceptional race car, more than I ever expected. The F1000 class is growing, and I am proud to be member of an elite group of F1000 owner/drivers across the USA. Once again I will race with safety as a #1 priority, having fun and being competitive. This has become a sport of skill and courage, and sometimes frightening. Driving the Formula F1000 has been a blast and quite the experience. It takes a large amount of concentration and being quite serious when approaching speeds in excess of 140 mph, on a road racing course.  I am ready to "start my engine" and once again make 2010 another great year of racing, hopefully bringing home many 1st Place finishes. Lets go racing.

Richard is active in his own SCCA Pan Am Region #81, He is the current Club Racing Chairman, and he was the founder of the Richard Dziak Pan Am Club Racing Endowment. He has donated thousands of dollars to the endowment personally. The Pan Am Club Racing Endowment was set up to assist Pan Am Club Racers who can use financial assistance to help defray costs of SCCA racing events. To date the endowment has awarded checks to Pan Am region National SCCA Club Racers for representation in the SCCA National Runoffs, SCCA driving schools and both National and Regional events. The endowment recently awarded a cash check to a fellow member who crossed over from SCCA Solo racing to Club Racing and attended an SCCA drivers school towards reaching his goal of securing a Regional SCCA competition license. Future awards are expected throughout 2008 to assist his own fellow Pan Am SCCA region racers. Each year the endowment makes a Richard Dziak Pan Am Club Racing Endowment Driver of the Year award. The award is for the dedication, professionalism and representation of the Pan Am SCCA region. Last year the award was presented to fellow racer Jose Gerardo Class FC, who finished in 5th place in the SCCA National Runoff's held at Topeka, Kansas. His Pan Am region club racers are now called "Team Pan Am Club Racers" and news on Team Pan Am can be found at regions forum website...........

The local Pan Am region is working on re-designing a club logo, and once the BOD decides on the changes, Pan Am Club Racing Endowment will present all club racers with "Team Pan Am Club Racing"  shirts. The Pan Am Region covers the area of West Texas and Southern New Mexico. The Pan Am region of the SCCA is active in Solo Racing, Rally Racing and Club Racing.
